THE FUNCTION-DELEGATION KIT — copy one per function From "The One-Person AI Business — Intermediate", Chapters 3–7 ================================================================ Handing off a function is not "ask the AI and hope." It's defining a few things ONCE, in writing. Get them right and delegation is safe; skip one and it bites. This is the template you reuse for EVERY function — demand, sales, delivery, support. Print one per function. FUNCTION: ______________________________ Date started: __________ 1 · THE INPUTS (what AI needs in front of it) ---------------------------------------------------------------- The operating brain, plus the raw material for THIS instance. Vague inputs make vague output — half of "the AI did it wrong" is really "I gave it the wrong things to work from." ______________________________________________________________ 2 · THE OUTPUT (exactly what "done" looks like) ---------------------------------------------------------------- Format, length, what it MUST contain, what it must NOT. Specific enough that two runs produce the same KIND of thing. ______________________________________________________________ 3 · THE ACCEPTANCE LINE (5–8 pass/fail checks, in your words) ---------------------------------------------------------------- Your decision rules, turned into fast yes/no checks. Each one, if it fails, means the work does NOT go. [ ] ___________________________________________________________ [ ] ___________________________________________________________ [ ] ___________________________________________________________ [ ] ___________________________________________________________ [ ] ___________________________________________________________ ⚠️ It must be checkable in MINUTES, or you haven't delegated — you've just moved the work. If checking takes as long as making, the line is too vague or too long. Tighten until a check is genuinely faster than a redo. 4 · THE CONTROL POINT (where you stand in the flow) ---------------------------------------------------------------- Start as the GATE — you check every output before it goes. Earn your way off it by EVIDENCE, never assumption: Evidence bar to move a class to autonomous: ______ clean in a row After the bar: the ______________ class runs on its own; exceptions escalate. 5 · WHAT THE AI MAY NOT DECIDE (the bright line) ---------------------------------------------------------------- At least one decision stays yours, named explicitly. However good the AI gets, it does not cross this without you. This function's bright line: __________________________________ Common bright lines by function: DEMAND — no unchecked facts, no naming competitors, no public promises. SALES — no discounts, no off-menu prices, no promises, no exceptions; may STATE the published policy, not act on it. DELIVERY — never ship below the definition-of-done; never move the date. SUPPORT — may CHECK and PREPARE a refund up to your ceiling; a HUMAN approves and releases it. No credits, extensions, or exceptions. ⚠️ THE MONEY RULE (whole business): AI may CHECK a refund against your rule and prepare it; a HUMAN approves AND executes every actual movement of money. AI never approves or moves money itself. THE FORCING COMMITMENT (dated — the win made concrete) ---------------------------------------------------------------- "On ______ (date), the ______ function ran on the system — AI produced, I checked against a written acceptance line, and the work went out. Time to check: ______ minutes (vs ______ minutes to make it by hand)." ================================================================ Yours to keep — free, and no strings attached.
